Bob Hope USO at LAX
The USO Airport Centers have re-opened as of September 2020, but with limited hours from 9a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday only. We allow a maximum of 50 guests in at a time to comply with COVID-19 spacing requirements. Each guest is allowed a two-hour stay to allow us to accommodate as many guests as possible.
Our mission continues to focus on our active duty service members and their families, with space availability for retirees and dependents of retirees. All guests must present a boarding pass and/or confirmation of flight pending in order to enter.
Due to COVID-19 our Relax Room, Movie Room, showers, and gaming area will not be open. Pillows, blankets and towels are also not available at this time.
We have taken great care to follow all COVID-19 guidelines to provide for the safety and security of all our guests and volunteers.
Since 1941, around the country and around the world, the USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. Bob Hope USO is not a government agency and relies entirely on contributions from patriotic Americans and philanthropic corporations and organizations.
The Bob Hope USO at LAX is open to current members of the military and their dependent families with proper military ID. In recognition of a career spent in the military, we also welcome military retirees, who meet our admission requirements. This welcoming “safe haven” for troops and their families is located on the ground floor of the historic LAX Theme Building on Center Way. The 7,100 square foot USO center opened in summer 2018 and is serviced by nearly 300 volunteers.

Amenities include a canteen snack bar, dining room, large nap room, family zone with play area and three private family rooms with dedicated restroom, three private connection rooms for calling home, big screen TV lounge and movie theater, gaming lounge, charging stations, secure luggage storage and an outdoor pavilion. The center features also features men’s and women’s restrooms and showers, as well as a tribute to famed comedian and USO entertainer, Bob Hope.
All services are provided without charge to current military personnel and their dependent families with proper ID. There is no on-site parking available, all guests must park in parking structure 1 or 2. Passenger drop-off and pick-up is available on the outside curb near the front entrance.
Bob Hope USO provides USO services, programming and outreach at four airport centers, also including John Wayne Orange County (SNA) Airport, Ontario International (ONT) Airport, and Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), March Air Reserve Base and Military Entrance Processing Station Los Angeles and at dozens of military installations across 51,000 square miles in Southern California from San Luis Obispo to the San Diego County line to over 200,000 members of the military and their families each year.
