Travel Safely at LAX

Health and Safety Information From LAX’s Partners

Partner Information

Ensuring the health and safety of our guests and team members at Los Angeles World Airports is our top priority. It is also a priority for our partners. Together we are responding to the changing needs of our passengers and are ready for your next journey. Here are some of the new initiatives that our partners have put in place to keep guests healthy during their journey.

TRANSPORTATION

FLyAway Shuttles

FLyAway service is currently operating to and from LAX from two pick up locations, Downtown LA at Union Station and Van Nuys but with modified schedules and limited seating that ensures physical distancing. The new time tables for these routes can be found here. The lines to Hollywood and Long Beach are currently not operating.

Taxis

Taxicabs are following and exceeding the LADOT guidelines for sanitizing vehicles. Vehicles are disinfected at the beginning and end of each day. All drivers must have a hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray available in their vehicles. Face coverings and masks are required for the driver and passengers. Lastly, we ask that the drivers open and close the doors for all passengers to limit the contact to door handles.

Ride Apps (Lyft, Opoli and Uber)

The ride app companies are making adjustments to ensure everyone’s health as they travel to and from LAX, including no longer offering shared rides, asking passengers to ride in the back seat, keeping the car windows open and having everyone wear face coverings.

See the links below to get a full list of rules and safety measures for ride apps:

LA Metro

Traveling to LAX on a LA Metro bus or train is still easy to do. Metro has modified their level of service. New schedules and times along with updated cleaning and face covering requirements can be found on their website here.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

The TSA is increasing cleaning of equipment and spaces around security check points, allowing up to 12 ounces of hand sanitizer to be carried through and extending the time for a Real ID requirements to October of 2021.

Find out more about TSA requirements and safety practices here.

The health and safety of CLEAR members is our number one priority. A fully touchless experience has always been available with iris verification. And, in response to the coronavirus, we implemented additional measures at LAX and across all of our 34 airports to protect members. We increased the disinfection frequency of our physical technology, and now practice social distancing by using every other CLEAR pod, make hand sanitizer readily available to everyone passing through our Lanes, and remind members about iris verification. You can find out more information on CLEAR here. The CLEAR team looks forward to seeing you again soon!

Retail and Restaurants

Our dining and retail partners at LAX are here to serve you both in the terminal and online at LAXShopDine.com. We now offer online ordering so you can make your purchase and pay from your own device, and pick up your order without waiting in line.

Restaurants and food courts have fewer tables and chairs to ensure guests are always six feet apart, and plexiglass has been installed at registers to protect guests and employees. Concessions use single-use and compostable menus, plates, cups and utensils whenever possible. In addition, some retailers are stocked with PPE supplies, including face coverings, gloves and hand sanitizer.
